The MV Jo Jo III is a 40-foot vessel with twin 700hp jet propulsion capable of 40 knots in shallow water. Purpose-built for the conditions around Haggerstone Island, capable of accessing both deep water and shallow reef systems.
Fish the surrounding reef systems for Coral Trout, Red Emperor, Nannygai, Spanish Mackerel, and Giant Trevally. Bluewater fishing for Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Tuna is accessible from the nearby continental shelf edge.
Light tackle and fly fishing around the islandu0027s reef flats and lagoons provide excellent sport for a variety of tropical species. Spearfishing is also available.
Qantas and Virgin Australia fly to Cairns daily from all major Australian cities. Charter flight from Cairns to Hicks Island takes approximately 2 hours. Luggage limit 15kg per person (soft-sided bags preferred). Boat transfer from Hicks Island to Haggerstone Island takes approximately 20 minutes.
